It’s all in the name!

Allow me to take an anticipatory bail and state that the origins of my name aren’t even half as interesting as Jezvin. Carlos Leyon Fernandez. Yes, I’ve got an assassin’s name. Carlos The Jackal. In North India, I would probably pass off as a very suave villain with a swashbuckling name like mine.

To cut a long story short, the origin of my name lies with my date of birth and my grandfather. I was born on the 4th of November and the very same day is the feast of St Charles Borremeo. The Spanish translation of Charles is Carlos which is my first name. My second name, Leyon, was fleshed out of my grandfather’s name; Layon. My last name, which of course, is my family name.

I have a rather varied and chequered background. I am what you could call a hybrid for all intents and purposes. An Anglo Indian Malayalee boy growing up in a small dusty town about 120 km from Chennai. I suppose that did not sound very exciting or hybrid enough. Perhaps, and perhaps not. My road all the way to this blog has been full of bumps and bruises. But hey, I wouldn’t want any of it change at all. Life would have been so bland without these bumps. I shall go into these bumps and bruises in the coming posts. Until then, Sayonara.
